Content of /var/sadm/pkc/<pkg>/save directory

Hi,

What are the contents of /var/sadm/pkg/<pkg>/save directory.

  • It contains various patches with their id's.

What does the "pspool" directory inside it contain?

i believe pkginfo uses this directory to report on what is installed and other information.

That's the base /var/sadm/pkg/<pkg> one.

The child "save" and "pspool" contents are unknown to me.

"save" directory is used for storing backup data when applying patch, so you can always remove patch, and system will restore to state like it was before patching. Never touch files in those directories.

Okay,
And what about pspool directory inside the save one.
<Id> is for the backup of patches, right?

yes batrus11 is correct. as for pspool directory, it is related to zones. if you don't plan on creating zones, don't worry about this directory. if you have obsolete pkg's, you can most likely delete them if your /var is running out of space.

more specifically, pspool directory is:
