Check for yuor hardware in the Solaris 8 HCL if it's not there, it probably wont work. At a glance I'd say it's unlikely your devices are supported.
since i'll be logging in remotely I think i can ignore the quality of display. I'm plan on buying new nic which would be compatible. My question is..will i face any problems later on..if i install other applications such as web sever like...websphere or ap..? or oracle 9i. My goal is to integrate http server, oracel and websphere.
You shouldn't really have any other problems, but I have to ask.
Why not use solaris 9?
I can load the solaris 9. but i've been informed that there isnt much diff between sol8 and sol9.
