AIX v5.2 Printer Question

Hi All,

I have an AIX server runing v5.2.0.0 OS and i am trying to print to a printer attached to the parallel port. I have successfully configured a printer and a print queue. However, when i submit the job i get the following error

Message from queueing system:
0781-088 Queue z:lp0 went down, job is still queued:

The printer in question is a Zebra S600 label printer.

could you explain how you configure the zebra printer on the AIX Box. I've got severals Zebra printers and i need to configure them under AIX.

It seems your printer is down.

Did you tried ping and telnet to the printer IP from AIX server which you are trying to configure??

my printers are onlines, and i can ping them and telnet them. I probleme is how-to configure zebra printer under AIX.

AIX by default device driver for Zebra printers will not be install as it is thrid party printer.

It is advicable to setup queues as 'ascii' and let the printer do the res or ask for the vender to provide device driver for AIX.
