I've inherited an openserver 5.0.2 and wanted to move it to a virtualized environment - Given the server is original hardware no one knows where any of its media is. I'm hoping someone has the installation media for 5.0.2 so I can get a clean system up and running to see what if any changes will need to be done to an image when I move it. I know there will always be surprises but I hope to minimize them. thank you in advance
Is the application software copy protected?
Is the application software supplier still in business?
If the answer to first question is yes, and the answer to the second question is no, then you have a reason to want to attempt this project.
Otherwise, save yourself a lot of heartache by buying either 5.0.7V or 6.0.0V and just copying the programs and data from the old system.

An alternative would be the use of something like VMware's vConvert or similar, I have used these to great effect when virtualising Physical to Virtual servers - including all data.
